Chili

Keefe and Paola Daly, Concepcion Chili

We have two boys, John and Peter. We are headed to Concepcion, Chile, where Paola went to college and where she came to know Christ. We want to help to give each student in Concepcion and Chile the opportunity to hear the gospel; to help each believing student to grow in their relationship with Christ and finally send them out to reach their families, classmates and country for Christ. We are excited about the impact that these students will have on their country, Latin America, the Middle East and the world!

Nepal

The Maier Family, Nepal:

Dear Friend,

“What has God been up to in your life?” This is the question I asked when I spoke on Jeremiah 2 at church yesterday. We have also been asking this question as a family as we work through some of the challenges of life here. But God has been good, we continue to press on and we have had a very encouraging time of reaching out to the youth these past few weeks.

The Boardwell Family, May 2007, Juarez:

A trip like this forces a Christian American to reconsider societal issues of poverty, immigration, border and drug enforcement, corruption, free trade, and health policy. There are many short-term measures that could be applied to alleviate some of the problems, but ultimately the changes needed require spiritual transformation of a whole society on both sides of the border. Whenever any of these issues spring up, we should determine to pray foremost for that.

The Vandersluis Family 2008, Juarez:

We left our comfortable middle-class lives and was touched by the hunger and genuineness of the people in Juarez.  Here there were so many needs and we wanted to meet all of them--especially the need for Jesus.  Hanging out with the orphans and the people in the colonia was humbling.  I thought about how much I have and how much more I could use it for God's glory.  Ministering to them really ministered to my spirit and we were uplifted at the end of every day. The distractions of media, materials goods and "entertainment" dull my senses, lull me to sleep, and squelch my zeal for the Lord.  This trip has given me a determination to stay focused on the Lord and look for opportunities to reach people for His kingdom.
